SUGAR FOR CHILDREN

I wish to relate my experience with sugar in my diet and in
the diet of my children.
My son was reported to be high strung and disruptive at
school. I stopped feeding him sugar and artificial
flavored food and he calmed down in a day.
I can cite many cases of children made hyper by sugar. For
instance, in a family, two of the children could eat
anything, but the third was uncontrollable. He cringed and
refused to let his father take him onto his lap. But when a
psychiatrist told the boy's parents to take him off sugar,
he calmed down and became a loving and affectionate child.
I am an example of sugar reaction. For example, when I eat
chocolate in the evening, I wake up hyper in the morning
and accuse my husband of being mean to me. He, who can eat
anything, asks, "What did you eat?"
Beware, many cereals have sugar and artificial flavors
added to make them attractuive to the taste buds of
children.
Kool Aid had artifical flavors and dyes, and some of the
children in a group went up the walls while others behaved
normally. Children differ in their reactions to sugar.
If you feed a child sugar loaded food and he becomes hyper,
you now know if you limit his sugar intake, you will soon
have a calm and loving child.
These comments are meaningful and parents now know that
instead of blaming their hyper children, they can take
effective steps to help the child be accepted by his peers.
I suffer from allergies and know what I'm talking about.
