NORTH OF NEW YORK

SYNOPSIS

copyright 2014 Edwin P. Cutler

It is with high spirits and a keen sense of anticipation that James Cook boards his pontoon plane to take him from his Rocky Mountains home, down to New York where he plans to make a fortune playing the Stock Market!
And why not? James is the kind of man to whom strange things seem to happen. A young bush pilot in perfect health, he is just the type to be cast into the melee of a roistering adventure story.
He knows the location of a cave loaded with gold nuggets, and upon arriving in New York finds himself the target of a pretty pickpocket, a computer thief, and a greedy gold seeking fraud, all of whom desperately want to know the source of his mysterious wealth.
The antagonist's methods are a mixture of violence, theft, kidnap and attemted murder. Although well equipped for combat, Cook uses no weapons but his captivating innocence and a fertile imagination. But when backed to the wall his physical strength and cunning, honed by years of combat in the Canadian wilds, burgeons to beat the odds.
To achieve his financial goals he has the help of a market analyst who has a talking computer; to achieve his romantic goals he must lure a beautiful mountain girl to his secret valley.
