As I opened North of New York the characters stepped out of the pages onto a stage;
I watched them walk about and heard them voice their hopes and fears
as they spoke out over the footlights of the printed page to me.
I walked the crowded streets of New York with James.
I flew with him over the snow capped mountains.
I hiked with his family when they fled the killers in search of their secret valley.
I gazed out of his eyes into the eyes of his enemies.
I shrank from the razor clawed grizzly bear.
I warmed with the affection of his mountain girl.
The play is a complex engrossing saga with clear direction as each scene
wraps its tentacles around a mystery that leads to a surprising climax.
I smiled when the cover closed on a happy book.
