The actress who plays Amanda in Island Life will win an oscar.

The plot got off to an exciting start and the major characters were introduced in the first few chapters. Richard Wronkle was a hysterical name as was fast Freddy and Millie Mayhem--also Malicia for Melissa. I enjoyed the story immensely especially the storm details. Mr. Cutler has a great rythmn in his writing and wonderful descriptions. I could picture the Island Life. As soon as I put the book down, I was telling my husband about it and all of a sudden I thought--what a series it could make for a TV show! I could just see the chapters proceeding week after week. So how do you write a screen play?

I don't generally read a lot of fiction, but once I opened Edwin Cutler's Island Life I couldn't put it down. The characters and plot kept me reading late every night. When I finished I found, inspite of all the greed and bad boys, Island Life was a happy book.

This is an adventure story in an exotic setting, with a complex mix of plot and various sub-plots and surprises at every turn. It draws extensively on the author's long experience of life on a cruising sailboat in the Caribbean Islands. There are some shortcomings in the editing but the narative moves along smartly and retains the reader's interest well.
